Join Phoenix and a community of women for Re-birthing Ourselves: A Writing Circle. This will be our inaugural introductory meeting. This meeting will be loosely structured as we shall collaboratively determine the order for the remaining sessions.
For those of you who were interested in participating but unable to attend please find the following contemplative prompt and discussion questions below that were covered in the circle:
Contemplative Prompt:
“Come, friends.
Come with your grief.
Come with your loss.
Carry all the pieces of your heart
and come sit with us.
Bring your disappointments
and your failures.
Bring your betrayals
and your masks.
We welcome you no matter
where you come from
and what you bring.
Come and join us
at the intersection of
acceptance and forgiveness
where you will find our
house of love.
Bring your empty cups
and we will have a feast.”
― Kamand Kojouri
Discussion questions:
What sentiment does this poem evoke for you at this point in your life?
Who are the “friends” that sit with you at the feasting table at present – mental, emotional, symbolic, physical?
What “friends” are noticeably absent?
Parting question for contemplation:
What lies at the heart of your healing?
In the meeting, we determined the format for future meetings:
